Not at all! We value diverse forms of knowledge and expertise. While we welcome contributors with formal education, we equally value community practitioners, activists, and those with lived experience. Our focus is on the quality of ideas and their relevance to our mission rather than formal credentials.
We welcome content that explores the connection between faith, social justice, cultural identity, and community transformation from Latine perspectives. This includes liberation approaches to spirituality, fresh interpretations of sacred texts, faith-based organizing, spiritual practices, educational innovation, and cultural expressions of faith. If you're unsure about your topic, our team is happy to discuss how it might fit!
Open Plaza publishes content in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous languages of the Americas. We encourage multilingual submissions and can provide translation support for selected contributions to reach broader audiences. We believe language diversity is essential to authentic expression.
While Open Plaza operates primarily as a community platform, we do offer honoraria for certain commissioned pieces and special projects. We're also committed to connecting contributors with paid speaking opportunities, workshops, and consulting roles through our network.
